The Undying DM Play on TwitchPlay

The Undying DM · Live on Twitch

One hero. Every viewer in his head. A world that remembers.

A live 2D RPG on Twitch where the crowd controls Kessen, a fallen mage possessed by the Substrate. AI generates the story, world, characters and dialogue while a deterministic, 5E-compatible engine resolves the consequences.

How the game works

An AI that invents the game

Xarnak — a theatrical lich — doesn't follow a scripted adventure. The AI generates rooms, encounters, NPCs, quests and twists live from what the crowd does, inside the persistent canon of Vaelis. A deterministic, 5E-compatible engine resolves the consequences.

The chat is the hero

There is one character — Kessen the Divided — and everyone plays him at once. Send a direction, vote with an option number, or use !action to propose what he should attempt next.

The crowd decides fates

At turning points, Xarnak puts Kessen's fate to a vote of the whole chat. When the crowd agrees, Kessen becomes Focused; when it divides, the Substrate leaves him Scattered. The crowd makes the choice canon.

Ready to play?

No site account to create. Open the stream, type a direction in chat with your Twitch account, and you are already playing.

A 2D RPG that writes itself as you play

Think less “virtual tabletop”, more a video game whose content is generated live. You watch a 2D world on stream — rooms, corridors, doors, monsters — and Kessen moves through it because the chat tells him to. The current adventure is not pre-rendered: the AI Dungeon Master builds its maps and encounters live, drawing on the persistent canon of Vaelis and reacting to what the crowd just did. Push an unexpected door and the game generates what follows. Underneath that improvisation, a deterministic engine resolves every attack, saving throw, skill check and XP award strictly from the 5e SRD: the DM narrates outcomes but never fudges a number, so the danger is real. No group to find, no scheduling, no character sheet: one message and you are already playing, for free.

Start playing in three steps

1. Open the stream

No site account, no download, nothing to install. A Twitch account is only needed when you want to send a move or an intention.

2. Send a command

up down left right to move, use to interact, search to investigate. Each viewer's latest direction counts once, and the most-supported command moves him. See How to Play.

3. Choose together

When a vote appears, type its option number. Use !vote to ask for a decision or !action your idea to propose what comes next. The moments the game records live can enter the Hall of Legends.

A world that remembers every turn

No adventure path is scripted in advance. The world has a persistent canon, and every event becomes part of it when it happens live.

Common questions

Is it free?

Yes — watching and playing cost nothing. Watching needs no account; a free Twitch account is only needed to send commands and votes.

Can I play without a party?

Yes. The whole Twitch chat controls Kessen together, so there is no private group to assemble or session to schedule.

I have never played an RPG…

Perfect — move Kessen with self-explanatory commands, then vote with a number when choices appear. The game handles the rules and shows the result live.
