How It Works
The crowd controls the hero. The AI builds what comes next.
The Undying DM is a live 2D RPG on Twitch. Everyone in chat controls Kessen together while an AI generates and narrates the adventure around him.
1. The crowd sends actions
Type
up, down, left, right, use or
search. During larger choices, vote with the displayed option number or propose an idea
with !action. Every viewer is one voice.
2. The room reaches a decision
Movement inputs are gathered in short windows. Each viewer's latest command counts once; the most-supported command wins, with the latest voice breaking a tie. At larger turning points, the crowd can propose options and vote.
3. The engine resolves it
Attacks, saves, checks, damage and XP are resolved by a deterministic engine based on the 5e SRD. The AI narrates the result but cannot change the numbers.
4. The game generates the next scene
The adventure responds with new rooms, encounters, NPCs and consequences in the 2D world. Nothing in the current route needs to have been pre-rendered.
5. The world remembers
The Codex gives Vaelis a persistent canon. The Chronicle preserves the events recorded by the live game, and the crowd's choices carry across future runs.
6. Xarnak performs it live
The AI Dungeon Master speaks, reacts and emotes through an animated lich avatar while the generated game remains visible on stream.
